Annina Black is a New York-based writer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She recieved her MFA from NYU Tisch’s Department of Dramatic Writing in 2021, where she was presented with the James Purpura Award for Excellence in Screenwriting by the faculty. Her original pilots have been recognized by the Austin Film Festival, ScreenCraft, Big Break, and Launch Pad. In 2022, her short film “F*** His Dad” was a finalist for Best Comedy in the New York Short Film Festival. She is currently under contract for a feature film produced by Jonathon Sanger (Elephant Man, The Producers). Her original comedy TV series is in development with producer Jeff Luini (It’sAlways Sunny in Philadelphia) as showrunner and Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) attached to star. Her work examines how women navigate power structures, often through a darkly comedic lens. She is a member of the WGA East.
